Méribel-Mottaret · Les 3 Vallées
The last of three individual chalets in an intimate hamlet of wood, stone and slate: 163 m² over seven rooms, facing the Vanoise. Currently under option — register to be first in line.
Méribel sits at the centre of the 3 Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world, between Courchevel on one side and Val Thorens on the other. Since the British founded the resort in the 1930s, it has kept a strict architectural code — wood, stone and slate — that makes it one of the most harmonious villages in the Alps. In the Méribel valley alone there are 57 runs and 150 km of slopes; across the 3 Vallées, more than 600 km.
Méribel-Mottaret is the upper part of the resort, at the top of the valley, with direct ski access to the whole area and a lively village of small shops and chalet residences. Summer is just as strong: an 18-hole golf course, 150 km of hiking trails and some of the best downhill mountain-biking in France.
The development is intimate by design: three individual chalets and a small number of apartments, built in the local tradition with slate roofs and façades of wood and stone, at over 1,750 metres. It sits a few minutes from the ski lifts and looks out over the Saulire, the Dent du Burgin and Mont-Vallon. Almost everything has already been sold; this chalet is the last.
The chalet offers 163 m² over seven rooms, organised so that reception rooms, living spaces and bedrooms each keep their own privacy. Large bay windows bring in the light and the view, and the interiors are designed by interior architects in two styles to choose from: a warm, traditional mountain atmosphere, or a more contemporary one.
The specification is what you would expect at this level: wood flooring, underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove, fully tiled bathrooms, fitted cupboards, high-end electrical fittings, taps and kitchen equipment, careful acoustic insulation, and heated boot dryers in the ski locker.
A note from Sébastien Salin
A new individual chalet in Méribel at this price is genuinely rare: the resort builds very little, and what does come up usually sells before it is ever advertised — this development is already almost entirely sold. This chalet is currently under option, but options do lapse, and when they do the next buyer in line is the one who gets it. If it fits what you are looking for, register now. And if it goes, I will show you comparable chalets in Méribel and the 3 Vallées that never reach the open market.
